Europees Eikenhout kopen
Oak is an excellent alternative for hydraulic engineering and is used in all kinds of applications in hydraulic engineering as an alternative to tropical hardwood. European Oak contains tannic acid that contributes significantly to the sustainability of the species (class II/III). The tannic acid in the Oak wood is also responsible for a number of other characteristics. Blue-black discolorations occur and are the result of the reaction between iron and tannic acid (tannin) in the wood. Wet Oak is corrosive in contact with iron. And when cement or concrete comes into contact with Oak wood, it will slow down the hardening. Freshly cut Oak has some tendency to crack, warp, collapse and discolour. Other names for Oak wood include Eiche and Oak.
Oak wood, the best properties!
Oak wood grows in Europe and Anatolia and is known as a European hardwood type. The colour of the heartwood is yellowish brown to dark brown and has a clear contrast to the more or less 25 - 50 mm wide pale brown sapwood. European Oak usually has a bit harder, heavier and steadier, stronger, but also a bit rougher structure than the imported oak types. At Regge Hout, you can buy oak wood with excellent quality and a nice appearance. Our oak wood is suited for many applications and can also be handled in civil engineering.
