Which type of wood can you use for which application? The properties of each type of wood and the strength & durability class determine for which applications the type of wood is suitable. We have listed the different types of wood below with the most common application options
Type of wood | Adaptations |
Angelim Vermelho | Heavy construction work, like water, bridge and ship building, dock works and sheet piling. In addition, also for fencing, decking boards, covers, pergola, gateways, staircases, terraces and veranda. |
Azobé | Heavy type of hardwood, great strength, longwearing and sustainability. Perfect construction wood in hydraulic engineering for sluice-gates, barriers, scaffolding, bridge decking, sheet piles, purlins, poles, friction purling, dragline bulkheads, horse stalls and construction parts. Can also be used for fencing, covers, pergola, gateways, staircases and veranda. |
Bankirai | Bankirai can easily split, suited for vertical work such as bridges, bridge decking, bridge supports, noise cancelling walls, water works and poles. Can also be used for hatchways, covers, pergola, gateways, staircases, terrace, veranda and garden house |
Basralocus | Very sustainable, resistant to fungi and insects, immune to shipworm due to the silicon value. Suited for hydraulic projects, such as pole and construction wood in hydraulic engineering and for balance awls of drawbridges. Can also be used as a decking part and on a terrace. |
Bilinga | Very suited for decking parts and both inner and outer building constructions. Barely distorts. Can be adapted in supporting wood, horse stall wood, decking parts and galleries.
